Ivy Rehab is Now Open in the Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn, NY

Ivy Rehab HSS Physical Therapy Center of Excellence in the Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn, New York, is now open! The clinic is located near Brooklyn Law School at 81 Court Street. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and Ivy Rehab have partnered to jointly open these Centers of Excellence, featuring a wide range of equipment and services with highly trained therapists providing world-class care.     

“HSS is excited to expand our relationship with Ivy Rehab with the addition of Cobble Hill.  All Centers of Excellence locations are held to rigorous standards of clinical excellence to ensure all patient experiences are exceptional, said JeMe Cioppa Mosca, Senior Vice President of Rehabilitation & Performance at HSS. 

Dr. Andy Pakter, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, serves as the Clinic Director and Physical Therapist at the new Cobble Hill facility.  

“I am thrilled to continue to serve Brooklyn, where I live and bolster Ivy’s connection with HSS and the medical professionals in the Brooklyn area,” said Andy. “We will provide the best care and therapy that our patients are accustomed to. The new space enables us to give even better care to a new population while expanding our community.”  

Andy Pakter graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) with his Bachelors in Biology, then went to Touro College to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During his undergraduate studies, Andy worked in the Brain Plasticity Lab, performing research on patients with cerebrovascular accidents. Utilizing transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and functional electric stimulation (FES), Andy improved the quality of life in the stroke population.   

More recently, Andy has been involved in the sports sector, handling the medical tents at the New York City Marathon, Play Rugby, and AVP (professional beach volleyball circuit). Andy is certified to perform personalized blood flow restriction therapy via Owens Recovery and Myofascial Decompression (cupping) through CupTherapy. Andy most recently received his board-certified Orthopedic Certified Specialty from the American Physical Therapy Association. In his downtime, he plays hockey, rock climbs, and bikes.
