When Kylee Louies started her career with Ivy Rehab Network partner, Positive Steps Therapy, she was a physical therapy student and over the course of the past eight years she’s added a list of impressive highlights to her resume, including Physical Therapist, Clinical Instructor, Mentor, and Clinic Director. As we celebrate National Physical Therapy month we’re highlighting teammates like Kylee – those who have a genuine passion for our field and continue to reach higher.

When Kylee looks back on her time in the clinic, she credits her professional growth on having strong mentors who always supported her and were there to answer any questions she had along the way.

When I first started working at Positive Steps as a new graduate, I had an amazing support system with my team of Occupational and Speech Therapists,” explains Kylee. “They were all very experienced and I was able to learn so much from them. I had a challenging caseload at the time and the team helped me provide the best treatment that I possibly could.”

It was the chance to transition from a student to a Physical Therapist that Kylee credits with being the key stepping stone in her career. Beyond that she has taken advantage of a variety of opportunities that allowed her to advance professionally, including taking continuing education courses, mentoring others, teaching courses, and working alongside so many amazing therapists.

Looking towards the future, Kylee has plans to sit for her Pediatric Certified Specialist (PCS) exam and one day teach at a local university.

Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself and take the extra time and effort to grow and be successful as a clinician.” – Kylee Louies, Physical Therapist and Clinic Director, Butler and Moon Township, PA
