Bridgette Nehlen is a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist who’s making a difference in the lives of children at Ivy Rehab’s Hampton Roads clinic in Virginia. Her journey with Ivy began back in 2018 when she was a student working under her mentor, Kate Dalman. After college, Bridgette joined Ivy, and it wasn’t long before she and Kate would cross paths again.
As the current Director of our Pediatric Speech Language Pathology Residency Program, Kate always encourages the best and brightest to apply, and Bridgette fits the bill. Over the course of the residency year, Bridgette continued her commitment to providing exceptional care, further developed her clinical and interprofessional skills, integrated new ideas, and collaborated with like-minded therapists across the Ivy network. Her unique approach to care is a testament to the commitment she has with her patients, always striving to make a difference in their lives. But it was her desire to learn more about pediatric language, paired with the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded therapists across the Ivy Rehab Network, also played a big role in her decision to apply.
“Having a speech residency leader like Kate, who truly cares about making a difference in kids’ lives and making Ivy a better place to work, was a key component to the program,” explains Bridgette. ” The Pediatric Speech Language Pathology Residency Program has enabled me to provide even better care to my patients in an environment that encouraged collaboration and successful outcomes.”
Bridgette’s passion for pediatric therapy is contagious, and her dedication to lifelong learning is truly inspiring. She continually seeks new ideas and techniques to provide the best possible care to patients. Her unique approach to therapy sets her apart, and she is highly sought after by families in the Hampton Roads community. We congratulate Bridgette on successfully completing the program and are proud to have her on our team.
