Ivy Rehab HSS Physical Therapy Center of Excellence (CoE) is now open in Avon, CT. You’ll find the office located in the new Whole Foods Plaza at 60 Market Street. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and Ivy Rehab have partnered to jointly open these Centers of Excellence, featuring a wide range of equipment and services with highly trained therapists providing world-class care.
“We are thrilled to expand our presence into Avon. It’s an honor to join this bright and growing community, as well as to serve the people of Avon with the highest quality of care,” said Kerrie Glassman, Regional Director for Ivy Rehab. “We look forward to continuing to build our relationships with patients and physicians in Hartford County.”
Austin Bronson will serve as the Clinic Director and Physical Therapist at the Avon facility. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2018 and began as a staff therapist for Ivy Rehab in Wallingford. Austin has worked on the development and implementation of a concussion rehab protocol, treated patients with lymphedema, worked with the pediatric population for torticollis and plagiocephaly, and specialized in the performance of dry needling, which significantly helps patients who are dealing with chronic headaches and jaw pain.
Austin has always had a passion for sports and helping the athletic population, as well as those recovering after surgery. He continues to enjoy playing hockey and golf in his free time around the Farmington Valley area where he grew up and currently resides with his wife Julia, in West Simsbury.
“I am extremely excited to return to the Farmington Valley after growing up in the area. I look forward to bringing high-quality and patient-centered care to Avon and the surrounding communities,” said Bronson. “Being active is the key to a healthy, happy life, so to have the opportunity to bring this to my neighbors is very special to me.”
